CGD offers a variety of fellowships throughout the year to a select number of promising researchers. Click on any of the fellowships below to learn more about each program and its former fellows.

Doctoral Candidate Fellowship Program

8-10 weeks

CGD hosts doctoral candidate fellows in CGD’s Washington, DC or London offices for a period of 8-10 weeks over the summer. The goal of the program is to help students identify thesis topics that are rigorous, timely, and relevant to development policy. The Fellowship program provides opportunities to interact with and be mentored by CGD fellows and staff, and participate in CGD events and workshops.

Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program

1 year

The post-doctoral fellowship provides young scholars an opportunity to apply their research skills in an active policy environment. During their year at the Center, post-doctoral fellows are encouraged to pursue  their individual research agendas, while collaborating with and seeking feedback from CGD experts, participating in CGD seminars and events, and taking advantages of the research support of CGD research assistants. Recruitment for this fellowship takes place each fall.
