Frances Seymour Keynote Speech - Rainforest Foundation Norway’s 25th Anniversary Conference

Introduction

On September 18, 2014, CGD Senior Fellow Frances Seymour delivered the keynote address at a conference in Oslo to commemorate the 25^th anniversary of the Rainforest Foundation – Norway.  In the speech, “The role of forests in achieving sustainable development and poverty alleviation: From local rights-based rainforest protection to global sustainable development for 2015 and beyond,” Frances focuses on the importance of forests to achieving development objectives.  The speech draws on research commissioned for the forthcoming CGD book, Why Forests? Why Now?
