Millions Saved

Overview

Millions Saved: Proven Successes in Global Health was the first major product of CGD’s global health policy program and continues to have an impact more than a decade after its publication. The book documents case studies of global health interventions at scale, across countries and thematic areas, with the rigorous evaluation that is CGD’s trademark. Millions Saved challenges the myth that development investments are costly and ineffective, and it draws conclusions about the type of technical consensus, financial resources, and implementation capacity required for future success in the future. Welcomed by the policy and advocacy community, an academic edition of Millions Saved has also become a popular teaching aid for public health policy classes in colleges and universities around the world. A third edition is planned for release in April 2016 and will include 22 new case studies. See CGD’s active work on Millions Saved and insights from the earlier editions.
