The International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) was founded 15 years ago to help determine whether social programs make a difference for development outcomes and inform decision-making. Since then, there has been significant progress in the evidence ecosystem.

In recent years, the focus has turned to facilitating the use of evidence, but challenges persist. The Center for Global Development’s recent Working Group on New Evidence Tools for Policy Impact highlights that the available funding, capacity, and institutional incentives for learning and evidence use continue to be limited across governments, aid agencies, and international organizations.

CGD and 3ie co-hosted an event that brings together research and operational experts from leading development organizations. Speakers will share lessons learned on how to integrate data and evidence into routine decision-making. The speakers highlight concrete examples of using evidence to enhance the impact of public and aid resources. As 3ie celebrates its 15th anniversary, we reflect together on what we have learned and explore new pathways for evidence leadership, incentives, and impact.

We encourage you to read this summary blog post from 3ie's website.
